Pendle Pizza - Whats the story?!

Hi!

My name is Jess and I run Pendle Pizza, I (we if you include my long suffering husband) have only been in the pizza business since September 2022, but since then and now we have made A LOT of pizzas!

Lockdown was a bizarre time for everyone, I was running an e-commerce business whilst looking after a new born baby, a 3 year old and a husband. By way of escapism I threw myself into cooking (and maybe cocktails). I was very lucky to have a good supply of pheasant & partridge to get creative with (no pubs or restaurants were open and taking them), I made loads of bread and even raided a mates freezer for a couple of legs of Venison. I then bought a wood-fired pizza oven, started making my own dough and the rest is history. 

I sold my e-comm business the year after and dabbled in other business ideas for a few months, until I finally gave into my pizza thoughts & ideas and Pendle Pizza was born. 

Whilst on a long journey down to Cornwall (thank god for iPhones) I bought all the equipment I needed to set up my own little mobile pizza biz and phoned our local council (who I have to say were extremely helpful) to ask advice on how to set up a food business. 

A Hygiene Rating of 5 and a few burnt pizzas later we had lift off! 

It has been an amazingly busy 4 months: from blazing hot pizza gigs at my local cricket club to blisteringly cold pizza catering in that cold spell before Christmas where we had to keep the dough in the van with the heater on! Cancelled events and extra events, I have failed forwards in some instances, made mistakes and have come back after a well earned break over the festive period to really understand where I want to take my little pizza business.
